nash charlie | first day of school!

“may you approach
this season with
gratitude and a
deeply rooted hope
that every day will
teach you something
that is an integral
part of your growth.”
-morgan harper nichols

today was nash’s very first day of school- ever! turning onto the uptown street, where i brought parks for many years + a year that ended so expectedly and suddenly last march- was emotional. parks enjoyed his days at this school very much; days before nash entered our lives. and then i remember walking parks into his toddler class with nash in my belly. and now he is running and playing and dancing and making his own new friends. it’s all going so quickly.  i will miss our slow, slow mornings- french-pressed coffee mornings and afternoons with no plans. yet, a part of me is also ready for structure and an autumn rhythm with more routine. but it has been wonderful in many ways to be deep into the heart of life, together. i feel like you can sense nash’s nervousness and anticipation in these snapshots.
i tell him all the time that i love him more than the moon and stars . moon and stars.
he is something of God’s stardust i am convinced.parks was so happy for his brother; heading to his old and very beloved school praying for a healthy and fun year for our happy + daniel tiger + books + yellow + balls + dogs + train-loving boy
