trick or treat

happy week after halloween, dear friends. i hope yours was safe and darling and cozy. ours was pretty simple and just how we intended it to be. we made cinnamon rolls and the boys picked out their costumes, we went to a few homes (social distanced) for treats, and parks and i went on an afternoon date together. i loved watching them run and get excited about each little piece of candy; alongside the smell of campfires and moody streetlights and tiny voices expressing excitement. this is the good stuff.

walking over to a neighborhood food truck/small gathering on this past halloween eve. they were their favorite stuffed animals/what they each sleep with… mo mo the dino and daniel tiger
we enjoyed mummy dogs and a themed charcuterie board with my cousin’s family
if you are local, confete soiree & play is such a sweet spot for children- parties, play, etc. i love all of the details they pour into everything and the owners are so friendly- it’s the best. (and they opened back up this past monday)
nash LOVES wall-e and i hope i always remember the way he would loudly say, “WAWWLL-EEE!” when asked who is was dressed up as
my cousin’s family was the nutcracker (and it was so adorable)
best friends
last year brought a huge thunderstorm (right at 6pm!) that pushed trick or treat to november 1 and this year a pandemic
-but we made the best of both-
we ended last saturday with a movie (parks wanted to snuggle) and buckeye football and candles and some sour patch kids
while cuddling, parks said, “you’re the best mommy ever. i really loved today!”
and that was everything.
you are loved more than you will ever know, my boy.
and so glad you felt the special + magic of this day
