currently {october edition}

eating: loving sweets… like apple, pumpkin, all types of fall pies… but am
also hoping to create some soup magic in the kitchen! nothing says a cozy autumn evening like a bowl of warm soup and some candles. what are some of your
favorite recipes for fall soups? we love just about everything… so send your
favorites my way, please!
exploring:
ideas for some fall mini dates with mr. monaco. i really want to make time this
month to spend some quality time together ♥ here are some of my ideas so far: carving/painting
pumpkins, a hayride, a picnic in the park, a nature walk, a scary movie night
{or hocus pocus!}, roast pumpkin seeds and build a puzzle/play a board game, a night in with foods from whole foods or out to try a new
spot in charlotte, a scavenger hunt around the city {i did this last december
to escape the moving process and it was super fun!}
wearing:
leggings are my true love at the moment. i wish i could wear them to work…. but
am putting them on right when i get home! i am also loving floral dresses, aztec
ponchos, maternity jeans {so incredibly comfortable!}, and wood necklaces.
admiring: people who don’t take life too seriously. i think there is something to be said about doing your best, yet taking it all in with a positive outlook. i appreciate this in people; people who do small things with a big heart. otherwise our passion in life starts to dwindle.
also, admiring these fabulous bloggers/posts:
astleigh at hill collection: letter to bean- on your due date

natalie creates: an autumn. vintage mantel
the modern tulip: show mercy, will i survive
a short blonde: cincinnati | findlay market
grey and scout: seven months
devon rachel: how to: messy fishtail braided crown

collecting:
things for the nursery… it’s hopefully going to be a collection of things that i
find meaningful for baby. i have been out exploring flea markets and stores
like ikea, world market, and t.j maxx home goods for reasonable {yet personal}
items. at the moment, there isn’t a ‘theme’ but it’s a combination of
grays/whites/creams and a lot of rustic/boho/aztec touches. we are going for
serene, relaxing, and an area that matches our home/style. i shared some nursery inspiration here, but hope to share more with you soon!
be sure to stop in tomorrow for another bumpdate – week twenty-six!
one more week until the third trimester begins ♥
what are you currently loving?

    I am allll about leggings. I wish I could wear them to work, too. And I'm pretty sure I'm going to be living off of soup until December…there are just so many different kinds I want to make, and baby seems to be a big fun of cozy soup dinners!

    I LOVE homemade soups in the fall/winter! I normally make a big pot on Sunday's so that we can have it for dinner Sunday and then take it for lunches throughout the week.

    Okay let me just say that I LOVE your photography style! Definitely sets the mood for October and makes me feel warm and cozy! I couldn't agree more with wanting soup now that it's getting chilly…potato soup & chicken and rice are always my go to's since they're so easy to make. I'm digging you're collection of fun things for the nursery, I'm sure they'll all come together beautifully! Thanks for sharing this post! 🙂

    I have been on a soup kick myself with the weather turning cooler. Get in all the dates you can with your husband before the baby comes! I miss those…a LOT! Congrats on entering your third trimester! I remember that anticipation of the arrival of my babies!

    I'm really in the mood for soup right now too. I love all your fall mini-date ideas too! We've been SO busy lately that we haven't taken much time for date nights, but I'm hoping to make more time for them, even if they're just an hour to spend together!

    I am loving all the creme soups that my favourite little bistro in town sells during fall and winter. They serve something else daily. Pumpkin, green beans, sweet potatoes creme… I love them all! 🙂

    I love every picture you put in this post!!! I could stare at the first one for a long time if I let myself. 🙂

    I've been counting down the days until it's consistently cool enough to make soups on a regular basis. Not that I want it to cool off just yet, but the soups make the cold days bearable. 🙂 Our favorites are chili/taco soup, minestrone, cream of broccoli, tortilla chicken soup, chicken pot pie soup, clam chowder, baked potato soup, and then tomato soup with a little oregano and some cheese tortellini in it. What are yours? If any of those stick out, let me know and can send you recipes! 🙂

    Your fall date night ideas sound so COZY! Enjoy them!!!

    I'm amazed at what people can accomplish! I usually stand back in awe, but oh, how they inspire me! My latest has been Cara Nicoletti and the story behind her book "Voracious".

    Nursery fluffing is so exciting!!!! 🙂
