listening | constant christmas tunes – especially ingrid michaelson, judy garland, leslie odom jr, ensemble magnolia, sinatra, piano, the carpenters, and elvis. i also love listening to podcasts when i drop the boys off at school, i also love podcasts (‘the next right thing’ (lifestyle) and ‘unruffled’ (parenting) are my current favorites)

baking | biscuits for a picnic dinner in our living room last night and cookies- the ones with a hershey kiss on top … my husband woke up early on an early december weekend morning and bought all of the ingredients to make them from scratch (those and anything with red hots / iced sugar cookies remind me of childhood)

decorating | one of my favorite traditions has always been getting a fresh tree from a farm and decorating it together . lots of fresh garland throughout, long-stemmed candlesticks in brass holders, and ‘christmas spirit’ in our diffusers. we also decorated the outside of our home with candles, and wreaths with red bows and a vintage santa (i will share soon but here are a few photos from instagram)

watching | the boys take in the magic of the season – there is nothing quite like it. + all the holiday movies, the queen’s gambit, the crown (season four) . also, we just watched ‘the happiest’ season on hulu – it was fabulous (i can’t get enough of dan levy!!)

celebrating | we celebrated st. nick, all the pretty lights by picking up some ice cream and driving around on a sunday evening, warm weather (although i prefer colder this month) by taking nature walks (our new neighborhood is such a beauty!) . celebrating in my home state with my immediate family (we aren’t doing extended this year)

dreaming | , home projects, and continuing to make our home ours, maybe some snow

at the tree farm we visit very year . this is our third year and i have a photo of him running down this path from each year

hot chocolate + classic cookies

i hope this month finds you in the best place possible … it’s my most favorite and we are trying to take it all in.
