adding autumn touches in our home

a song

ways to add seasonal elements to your home

01. i tend to love to bring in natural, organic elements for each season …

autumn | a cinnamon broom, pinecones, dried gourds and flowers, moody art, gingham, tiny pumpkins inside and heirlooms lined along the front porch
winter | a real christmas tree and mistletoe, frasier fir wrapped windows and staircase with velvet ribbon bows, dried orange garland
spring | a hibiscus on the front porch, clippings of bloomed-fill branches from our yard, newly planted annual flowers in terra cotta pots
summer | clippings from our hydrangea, bowls of citrus and peaches, bouquets from the farmer’s market in vintage vases/pitchers, market lights

02. a playlist on spotify for a gathering around a campfire, a sunday afternoon hammock nap, rocking chair hangs
03. layer in textures – such as wools and flannels and homemade quilts during the colder months and linen for the warmer ones
04. essential oil blends that match the atmosphere (plant therapy is my favorite brand)
05. a wreath for your front door made out of natural pieces
06. plant something seasonal (packets of seeds are usually in their easter baskets and the moon flowers from last spring are now blooming)
07. i love to browse local antique malls for nostalgic pieces and pieces that speak to me
08. do what you love – whether it’s a lot or more minimal, do what reflects your style!

i share a lot of inspirations on pinterest and have a mood board for each season
here is my autumn board
