good morning!

growing up, we celebrated st. nick on december 6 every yearΒ
we would write a letter to santa with our christmas wish listΒ
{usually attaching the sears catalog photos of toys we wanted most}
theΒ next morning,Β we would wake up to candy, oranges, and a few small gifts
Β our letters would be gone
off toΒ theΒ north pole
our grandma cross-stiched our stockings for us
Β -all eleven grandkids-Β
which also made the event even more special each year

Oh my goodness, friend. The story about the cross-stitched stockings filled with oranges and candy reminds me so much of what my grandma would do for us when we were younger! We didn't write letters to Santa, but we would get the stockings on Christmas day when we went to her house. We haven't done that in years, and you just reminded me of that sweet memory. π
Oh, and what great stocking stuffer ideas! I just showed my husband to give him some ideas. Since we are going to NYC at the end of December, we are going light on the gifts. So we are just filling each other's stockings. π I love those socks!!

We always had oranges in our stockings too! This is a great list. I need to find something to stick in my coworkers stockings. π
