it's that time of year again! i hope to share a lot of gift/holiday ideas with you all this season. stockings + stuffers are so fun. st. nick (if you celebrate) is next week so i thought i would start with some stocking stuffer ideas for her ... i am hoping to do some for the men and kids soon. i am also sharing some of my favorite stockings - some would be great to get your kids' names on the top. how does your family do stockings... any traditions you love most?

a mood board | november edition

"not knowing when the dawn will come, i open every door."

this month went by pretty quickly... we traveled a lot, enjoyed the closing of the autumn season with some family time, and focused on living simply more and more. it's been a process and is something we continue to implement into this chapter of our lives.

"that was the day she made herself promise to live more from intention & less from habit." - amy rubin flett

i just love these words. when you take a moment to connect the dots of this simple yet powerful phrase it leads to more questioning. i believe that questioning is good, it means something matters.

in my passport | chicago

over the weekend, my husband and i headed to chicago from my hometown in ohio to enjoy the city and visit my brother. we enjoyed time together while parks spent time with my parents. we stayed downtown near michigan avenue and were able to visit a lot of my favorite parts, savored delicious meals, good coffee, loved seeing christmas tree lots throughout and a trip to the christmas market brought me back to germany for an hour. before we left yesterday, we went to an old school used book store and then to the wormhole coffee shop in wicker park to read (beatle juice posters, old school nintendo, teal leather couches) it was an eclectic and fun atmosphere. a few other favorites not listed below: the violet hour for cocktails (one of the coolest bars i have ever been to), beatrix for brunch, and ramen takeya in the west loop (perfect during the cooler months.)

thank you so much for supporting this blog.
hello! i am so excited to share one of my favorite young business owners with you all today, rylee of little missy rae... she is so talented and creates the most beautiful paintings. rylee has her own etsy shop and is only fifteen years old. i have been buying her artwork for a few years and was so excited when she wanted to offer one to a reader of 'olive june.' these portraits would make the most thoughtful christmas/holiday gifts. i have given one to my husband's parents, my parents, my husband, as wedding gifts, and she also makes anniversary portraits as well.
